Greetings: As we are in the midst of our second year of working together to serve our communities and families, I can’t say enough about the capacity we are building to improve early childhood care and education in our communities. Below are a few highlights! 📚 Arkansas Children’s Week We participated in the statewide celebration of Arkansas Children’s Week, engaging communities collaboratively. Providers, families, and community stakeholders celebrated with the theme: “Fall in Love with Reading. 🌱 Cultivating Curiosity “Camp Curiosity” day camp for early educators, in partnership with A-State Childhood Services and the Museum of Natural Resources. Finding math in nature to process art, creating meaningful learning environments that promote problem solving, reasoning, and creativity, all while finding joy and discovery in nature. 🤝 Regional Collaborations Hosted the “Bridging the Gap” Early Childhood Summit. The event received local media attention and brought stakeholders together from across the region. Planning data walks in partnership with the Union County Excel By Eight Core team. Sharing resources and recruiting families and partners! Collaborative recruiting efforts include: county provider list, print and digital versions, and sharing program information throughout the community. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Engagement Continued ongoing Family Cafés, in collaboration with Curricula Concepts, to give families a voice and space to connect. Connecting families with local resources. Notice family surveys at events. You may also find them on the back of books and resources distributed by local leads. 📊 Data for Impact. Collected important local data, which will help inform and drive access to quality child care locally. In partnerships with the Arkansas Research Center - EDI team and Excel By Eight. Data Road Show coming to a community near you! (hint: Smackover & Parkers Chapel next. Building capacity focusing on improving the quality of our teacher-child interactions as programs participate in the CLASS Observation Tool pilot! Thank you to our programs that participated in the counties of Calhoun, Ouachita, and Union! Welcome, Columbia County friends, to the CLASS Pilot coming in FALL 2025! Thank you to our regional/state training partners who have supported us as we learned about the CLASS Observation Tool! Congratulations to program leaders who are becoming CLASS Observers! It is a joy to do this work with you as we remember there is always one more under The Big Red Umbrella! Read the entire newsletter: https://shorturl.at/hjkaz

The following was shared by a local educator/program owner who attended the event with her staff: "We really enjoyed ourselves today. This was one of the best classes we've attended". Thank you to our partners: A-State Childhood Services and the Museum of Natural Resources.
