Greetings:

I am excited to announce that  South Central Service Cooperative has been awarded the opportunity to serve as the Local Lead Agency for Calhoun and Ouachita counties. This initiative is guided by the Office of Early Childhood in efforts to offer collaboration opportunities while assessing  needs and offering support for the early care and education programs in our communities, specifically those programs receiving state appropriated funding.

I, Zephonia Avant, will serve as your contact person as we begin developing this mutual partnership between providers and stakeholders of our communities.

I look forward to visiting with providers and thinking together on how we can together enrich and strengthen our programs to better support the children, families, and communities of our counties.

So much is at stake. Our families are dependent upon us to provide quality care for their little ones so that they can in turn provide for their families. Our economy is dependent upon us to provide a foundation of care for our children so that today’s workforce remains stable and vibrant. And, most of all our children depend upon us for love, care and experiences as they are developing in this most critical stage of brain development.

Truly, our work provides the foundation of today and a map for all of our tomorrows.

We can’t do this work alone. We must come together with the understanding that we each are equally important and valued. I welcome you to this opportunity to build a community of providers and stakeholders who value children and families. Advancing early care and education in Ouachita and Calhoun Counties is Possible with you!

Warmly,

Zephonia
