Grant Funding for Field Trips to Logoly State Park

Are you looking for an easy way to incorporate hands-on learning experiences designed to teach students about the natural and historical resources of Arkansas? Consider a field trip to Logoly State Park. Fall field trips are great because the weather is usually cooler and there are interesting things to cover such as leaf change, migration, and how animals survive in winter.

Park staff can tailor programs that reinforce curriculum while offering students a chance to explore and interact with natural resources. With advance notice we can also create or modify programs to reinforce specific concepts and help you meet state standards. These programs allow your students the chance to see the concepts in a new way without the need for a whole new lesson plan.

If you are concerned about the cost of having a field trip at our park, almost all programs are free with a few having a small fee to cover materials.  In addition to little or no cost for the programs, the state now has a grant program that can help cover the costs associated with field trips to Arkansas State Parks. You can request assistance to pay for bus drivers, mileage, and substitute teachers. Grants are reviewed monthly for quick turnaround. Information on what the grant covers and how to apply can be found online at https://www.arkansasstateparks.com/about/education/grants.

If you are unable to bring your school to the park, during the months of December-February we can come to your school and offer programs in the classroom.

To book a field trip or schedule an in-school program, call the park at (870) 695-3561 or email Heather.Runyan@Arkansas.gov.

We hope to see you at the park soon!
